Yes. Our MRT system is GOOD! replied by eX.A.K.R. @ Fri, 05 Dec 2008 01:34:01 +0800

Well, we may call our rapid transit system garbage (and many of
you should also be familar with the incident I had some time back),
but, compared to Kuala Lumpur's system, we are really better than
their's in many ways. Of course, our system still has many flaws in
it, and I don't completely agree with the writer's rosy picture of
our rapid transit system, but - and this is from what I have read
elsewhere - Kuala Lumpur's rapid transit is even worse! I'm too
lazy to delve into the details right now, but I suggest a trip to
Wikipedia and especially reading up on their Kelana Jaya Line (the
former PUTRA LRT line) and the Kuala Lumpur Monorail.

I guess a part of why we preceive our rapid transit system as
being a bad system is due to the "grass is greener on the other
side" syndrome. Also, while I will agree with anyone who thinks
that the authorities need to do more to improve the system, we the
commuters must share some of the blame for dragging down the
quality of our rapid transit system, too. Sadly, Singaporeans find
it easier to simply push the blame to someone else and expect the
authorities to spoon-feed them a great rapid transit system without
them contributing anything in return.

FLOOD AREA IN YISHUN MRT CAUSE DISTRESS TO RESIDENTS replied by eX.A.K.R. @ Fri, 05 Dec 2008 01:13:20 +0800

Well, the word 'distress' might have been a bit too strong here,
but looking at the photographs of the flood, I'm thinking to
myself, "Screwed am I should I ever set foot in that". The
flood doesn't look bad, but is enough to cause a lot of trouble
later on. Think: wet smelly feet, bacterial and fungus, not to
mention ruined or muddied shoes.
