prev i found a website which displays and has audio clips on the announcements in the Hong Kong MTR system….forgot the url already…... will be interesting if sg has such a website for mrt as well….......

The in train announcement & station announcement. I know all of them because due to frequent riding on MRT and I will also memorise some. Will add some more announcement later.

Remember long ago, there is no "Next station" announcement for every station. However, when the south bound train is going toward city hall, there will be announcement in 4 languages, and by the time the whole thing end, the train will reaching City Hall already. It goes something like this:

Next stop, City Hall interchange. Passengers travelling towards Pasir Ris, please cross the platform and transfer to the East bound train.

Yes, and I also remember that there is also no door closing anouncement back then. The train will make 2 BUZZER wen closing the door. And somewhere in 2000, SMRT changed the train announcement type.

Something to note about PUTRALINE.

Sri Rampai Station is still under constrution so it is not open. It is also semi-underground.(like Bishan).

The train system is called PUTRA, which is the acronym for Projek Usahasama Transit Ringan Automatik. In English, it means Automatic Light Transit Joint Project. PUTRALINE is a bus service operated by PUTRA.

Now SMRT having timing for travelling from this station to that like the NEL one.

Oh thanks alot. I did'nt know these announcement... didn't heard them before. Also, anybody know the old type of announcement, could mind please post it here to let us know more.
