Actually there's also a possibility that it might not be the ISP or router. In fact, it's very unlikely to be anything related to the router. You mentioned that you were in the midst of a flash game when you received a network timeout error? Most (but not all) flash games preload the data before the user can start playing.
Apart from your ISP, maybe it might be helpful to let us know the link containing the game that you're referring to as well?

The Two Computer Icon at your taskbar.In case you don't know, the taskbar is at the bottom-right corner of your computer screen.
