Soccer ace Rio Ferdinand is learning HEBREW.
The star goes to Israel every year for his holidays and now wants to crack the language.
The England and Manchester United defender, 29, may even settle in Israel when he quits football. A source said: "He loves the country.
"He goes there a lot and feels he should know the language, especially as he has thought about retiring there." Rio, who left school in south London at 16, without any qualifications is said to be enjoying his private lessons at home and is also reading up on the culture.
Hebrew, spoken by 15million people worldwide, is written right to left using an alphabet of 22 letters.
