Martins tempted by Gunners
Obafemi Martins claims it would be 'nice' to play for Arsenal, but will not push for a move away from Newcastle United.
Arsenal have been linked with a swoop for the Nigerian striker, who joined Newcastle in a £10million deal from Internazionale two years ago.
At the end of last season, Magpies boss Kevin Keegan warned clubs off making bids for his star players and said he had not received an approach from Arsenal.
Reports continue to claim the Gunners will bid for Martins and the 23-year-old would be tempted by the chance to head to Emirates Stadium.
Thrilled
"Arsenal is a big club that everyone wants to play for. I am thrilled and it will be nice to play for such a team," Martins told The Sun.
"But, now that I am a Newcastle player, there is nothing much to say. If it is true, both clubs would have to reach an agreement.
"Is Arsenal a good club? Yes. Would I love to play there? Probably, if Newcastle are ready to listen to them. But if Newcastle says no then it'll be no.
"Because I still have a contract, I expect the club to speak to me when I get back. I am not saying I want to go but, if anything happens, that's football."

I find a lot of taxi driver’s do wait for the times that extra fees apply.
Everyone knows that at there will be no taxis between 4.45pm and 4.59pm.
Then suddenly ten taxis come out of nowhere to your taxi pick up queue.
Last month I had a very early flight and went to Terminal 3 by mistake and had to go to Terminal 1. The intra terminal driverless train wasnt on at the time (yes, it was very early) so I caught a taxi.
The bas..err…driver proceeded to charge me the airport fee, as well as the early hours fee, with glee, and so a 800 metre journey cost $9.20. He never even left the airport.
I admit this is more of a rant against the particular bas…err…taxi driver I had rather than illogical fees

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his side are capable of achieving 'domination'.
The Gunners hit the ground running last season, and stormed to the top of the Premier League table.
However, their campaign deteriorated towards the latter stages as Chelsea and Manchester United gained momentum to leave Arsenal empty-handed for a third successive season.
But Wenger, who previously guided Arsenal to a 49-game unbeaten league run, feels his squad have the potential to continue their recent progress and claim glory in the 2008/09 term.
Desire
"At the end of the season I just told the players to go on holiday, forget about it for a few weeks, and be ready to come back with a new desire and new hope for next season," Wenger told the official Arsenal magazine.
"I feel the togetherness is there, the desire is there, and the quality is there. They have very good ingredients. We have done extremely well.
"We had 68 points last year, and we had 83 this season, so we made a big improvement.
"We just want to make another improvement next year, and if we can manage that improvement, what will follow naturally is domination."

there is a offering of a 3 years officer contract upon being qualified for ocs during bmt. the 3 years takes effect only upon commissioned. if ooc, then contract will be void and null. so if u take this contract, commissioned but then no renew intent, it will be a 4 years of regular NS.
if u sign under LSA or other degree bond, it is an additional bond period (years) on top of the 3years contract... if u take this route..Edited by eac 06 Jul `08, 7:33PM

wow. very insightful knowledge from ben and bryan. many thanks (:
ben, u say u currently work in canada as a cook? are u singaporean? so how much is ur wage there? i dont have a HUGE passion for cooking as all other potential chefs do, neither do i have any experience. but cooking has proven to be therepeutic for me, and i do in fact love to cook for the people i love. i see it as an art, where each dish is a masterpiece in itself.
from what i see, i will be able to prepare masterpieces of art each time i cook? or is it just a misconception on my part? is the real world just long hours of being in the kitchen, all sweaty and oily, and having to rush out dishes that i cant be 100% satisfied with?
i aim to study in italy/france as i feel that the country itself is full of culture and the people really take their cuisine seriously (im not saying other countries do not, but i just really love the culture in france). do singaporeans get treated as second class citizens when we try out for restaurant jobs overseas?
also, bryan mentioned that its not all just about cooking, there's alot of management, planning and coordination to do in the kitchen at high speed. so can i say that what i learn on this job can be applied in other jobs as well? (just in case i wish to venture into, say, the hospitality and tourism management courses?)
since i have not truely been in the kitchen as a staff, do u suggest i try the course out here in sg before venturing overseas? ben, what were some of the difficulties u had to overcome when u first became a chef? were there any discrimination against boys or girls, or singaporean and non-singaporean? and can i have the list of canadian schools u would reccommend? thanks. btw, may i ask how is the lifestyle in canada? is it as laidback as australia? i may want to move there if my job and everything is successful.
thanks once again for ur replies.

Wrong!
These reptiles are deceptively fast and are also excellent swimmers. They hunt for prey and will attempt to capture it when the opportunity presents itself. They are very aware of predators and people and generally shy away from them. In fact, the RES frantically slides off rocks and logs when approached - hence the name.
